Diesel and 2WD combine to deliver the EVA Track T-800CDI

Impossible to believe? Believe it! This is the world’s first 2WD Diesel motorcycle and it is called EVA Track T-800CDI (shouldn’t they have called it EVE?) This adventure bike features an 800cc turbocharged Diesel engine that is capable of developing 45bhp and 74lb.ft of torque, CVT transmission and shaft drive. The best of it is that it delivers peak torque in between 1,800 – 4,500rpm and it is capable of doing that while running on plain old Diesel, bio-Diesel, plain plant oil or any of these combined. Keep it at an average speed of 55mph and it will go 112mpg, something that no other gasoline-fueled motorcycle is capable of (so I guess that the BMW R1200GS is out of the question?).

Overall, the bike weighs 199kg dry, it is claimed to be bulletproof so it is very likely to become the Jeep of motorcycles if adopted by militaries around the world. It has an ingenious hydraulic two-wheel drive system that implies a hydraulic pump being powered off the gearbox output shaft and which then runs an impeller in the front hub. The system is supposed to transfer as much as 15% of power to the front wheel, but the percentage can vary depending on the relative position of the throttle to the rear wheel speed.

Did I hear the word ‘speed’? Yes, this may be a Diesel-powered motorcycle, but has a top speed of 108 mph and that’s the part we like given the fact that this thing is more likely to travel off road which is where it will reach the impressive performance for an oil burner.

Brammo Enertia Electric Motorcycle to go on sale at Best Buy for $12K

Brammo plans to sell their Enertia electric motorcycle for $12,000 in five West Coast stores in May. Considering the great number of visitors for a single Best Buy location, such as the one in West Hollywood which sees approximately 7 million customers a year, we can’t help being impressed by their distribution network and check their plans for the future. Brammo currently works at a two-seat model which will join the Enertia at the 1,200 Best Buy locations in the US and other 1,500 ones throughout Europe and China as soon as it will be released next year.

Enertia’s electric powerplant develops 28lb. ft of torque which gets the bike up to no more than 53 mph while the battery only keeps up for 45 miles. So there’s no obvious reason why people would buy it, especially over the much cheaper, torquier (50 lb.ft) and lighter (129 lbs less) 2009 Zero S electric supermoto, just to give an example, but I bet it will sell successfully (it’s human nature, I guess).

Their future model is claimed to achieve a top speed of 75 mph and have a 100-mile range so they clearly know where they’re wrong and consistently work to improve their products.

Being a loving and caring husband means more than just keeping the vow you’ve made in church on your wedding day. It involves the power to adapt your care and concern towards your life partner’s well being in different and sometimes spontaneous situations. So if you’re a motorcyclist and an ideal husband, it is very likely that you’re already using what is called the Babe Cage.

How was that saying?... “Prepare for the worst, expect for the best!” I believe it suits perfectly to this precise situation.

The Babe Cage (what kind of name is that, anyway?) is securely built around a cruiser’s bodywork so together with your passenger’s life, it also protects your motorcycle. The passenger gets an extra large backrest and even headrest while being safely belted to the cage (I guess there’s no point in having a safety cage if you’re going to fly tens of feet away from the bike in case of an accident). There is also a set of extra lights mounted around the cage so that traffic participants would be aware that you’re pretty much working with overdue gauge out there.

In what concerns the wife, how paranoia does she needs to be in order to let herself be carried like she’s explosive material or something?

Aprilia RSV4 official racing colors

Aprilia has just presented the final graphic version of their RSV4 superbike that will debut in the World Superbike Championship this weekend. As seen, Aprilia makes an entry on the WSBK scene without the help of a main sponsor so the fairing displays the traditional colors of the Italian company, the most visible logos being RSV4 and Aprilia.

Recent test have shown that the new Italian V4 is capable of great performances and with the help of Shinya Nakano and Max Biaggi, the Noale house aims towards as much presences on the podium as possible.
